Growing global fear and uncertainty surrounding U.S. trade policy threatens to undermine America’s strategic and economic relationships.  There is real concern that the U.S. is turning inward and can no longer be considered a reliable partner in advancing market-opening initiatives.  The current, costly lack of focus in America’s trade policy has given way to creeping protectionism in U.S. legislation and endangers 60 years of progress toward increasing global trade flows – the very engine of growth that has eased poverty and brought prosperity to so many.

The opportunity to put America back on the right policy track and bolster confidence in U.S. and global markets depends on crafting a trade agenda that works for America and in advancing long-pending trade deals with Colombia, Panama and South Korea.
